Delmar Community Orchestra

Welcome to the website of the Delmar Community Orchestra, a nonprofit organization comprised of volunteer musicians of all ages. We offer four public concerts each year and bring performances to local nursing homes as well.

Hello Neighbors

Here’s an update on the 2021-22 Season: Several issues around the pandemic have converged to make our usual schedule untenable. We are going to be an orchestra of just strings until at least the start of 2022. We’ve also had to reduce our usual concert schedule to one concert at the end of our 2021 season. Here’s what we’re planning:
  • Rehearsals on Mondays from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Delmar Reformed Church, 386 Delaware Ave., Delmar
    September 13, 20, 27; October 4, 11
  • Concert at Delmar Reformed Church: October 18 at 7:30 pm

In addition, we have instituted the following guidelines in order to keep everyone safe:

  • Strings only – no woodwinds, brass, or percussion at this time
  • Everyone must wear a mask during rehearsals
  • Players must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination
  • Players will be socially distanced, so everyone will need their own stand

And now, a word from our board of directors:

The Delmar Community Orchestra is an all volunteer organization. We ask that potential members have basic musical reading and playing competency and be at least sixteen years old. If you’d like a preview of the music we’ll be playing, let us know what instrument you play and we’ll send you a sample chart. Thanks. We look forward to meeting you.
